4x4 light inop on TJ

The 4x4 light on my dash is not working right now. I figured it's either the bulb (more likely) or the switch on the transfer case (less likely). Which one is easier to get to? Removing the dash on most vehicles is a PITA, I hope I don't have to disassemble half my Jeep for a tiny bulb!

you should be able to take the cluster out without removing the dash

My 97 had 2 4x4 lights in the dash. One was supposedly used in XJs. Depending on what year yours is, you may just be able to swap it over.
