My Truck keeps poppin this code, I know it has something to do with the evap system and I need to figure out what to do to fix it. I do know if I clear the code and I do alot of highway driving it will not pop the code but when I'm just crusing around on base it will pop all the time.

Any good ideas on what to do instead of throwing money to all parts of that system? Thanks for the input :)

The code is stored when the PCM commands the EVAP purge solenoid on, but the NVLD switch does not show vacuum flow. To throw the code it will have to run and fail this test twice.

Start by verifying vacuum to the leak detection pump. This is mounted behind the fuel tank, attached to the charcoal canister. You will need to actuate the purge solenoid by applying a ground to the correct side of the solenoid with the vehicle running to turn it on and then pull the vacuum supply line at the leak detection pump. No vacuum equals vacuum/solenoid issue. Good vacuum equals likely leak detection pump fault.

These Dodge systems are NOTORIOUS for having bits of carbon (from the charcoal canister) break away and plug these vacuum lines and the leak detection pump. It the line is plugged blow air back towards the leak detection pump (with the line removed).

Other failures would include, bad wiring to the leak detection pump, wiring issues to the purge solenoid, bad/defective PCM.....

hmmm. seems somewhat familiar.

Yep, yours = too much flow (leak). Tom's = no flow (plugged/defective)

Either can be diagnosed in time to make it to a Frozen Lunch!

Mine was doing the exact same thing :D

DODGE + EVAP = CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

Poorly overengineered and poorly built.

Fixed it for you :D

I had a customer's Rubicon that kept throwing a CEL that was basically the same thing as your code. The fuse for the purge solenoid was blown...
