Hello,
My name is Nate Burrows. I represent a local offroad vehicle club titled Frozen Axles Offroad. We are a Tread Lightly! affiliated club that fosters responsible trail use for offroad vehicles that exceed the 1500 pound weight limit. Our typical offroad vehicle is a 4 wheel drive vehicle like a Jeep or Land Rover with a modified suspension, locking differentials, and offroad traction tires.
We utilize approved trail systems in the Fairbanks North-Star Borough and frequently travel RS 2477 trails and supervise trail maintenance and upkeep, provide clean-up of said trail systems and cooperate with other usergroups in courteous trail sharing.
I would like to know what, if anything can my offroad club benefit by affiliation with Alaska-Trails and I would also like to know if there is any way we can support our and other usergroups to ensure we have responsible use so that we can ensure that the trails are kept open for us in the future.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.
Nate Burrows
Vice-President, Frozen Axles Offroad
they may not be interested since we are a vehicle offroad club, but I saw that they represented snow machines so the motorized arguement is out of the question. The way I see it, it doesn't hurt to ask. If you never ask, then the answer is always no.
