I've been on station for about 2 months. I had my 97' Subaru rally/daily driver up here but quickly learned alaskan terrain is not for rally rigs. I had a 79' CJ7 for about 3 years but had to sell it when I moved up here.
Now that I have the money saved up and am financially stable (well until I get to work on the new rig!) I bought an 09' Jeep Wrangler X. As she stands it's a bone stock vehicle but I'm impressed with it's capabilities just on the trails here on base.

Welcome! I actually almost bought that Jeep from the dealership, but I thought better about having two new cars... so I bought a 98 TJ. Nice Jeep, I really like it in yellow. I hope to see you on the trails soon!

My main issue is being Security forces my schedule is all over. I only get every other weekend off. I've got today off and tomorrow I have to go into the squadron for training. If someone's free today and wants to hook me up with some tamer trails (new rig and completely stock, can't go too crazy yet) I'd appreciate it.

My 98 Wrangler is almost 100% stock, the only thing I have is the 2" budget spring boosters. I'm still rocking stock tire sizes, and mine are worn down. Your stock Wrangler will do a lot more than you think. This last weekend's ride really taught me to respect the Wrangler. It's a formidably capable car, take it out to the trails and let the stock Jeep amaze you. It's not like we're running the Rubicon trail here, your Jeep is Trail Ready for a reason.

Dang. I'm off, but the zuki won't have a coil for another couple days.
