Anyone done this on a FSJ? I'm considering it on my 89 Grand. I've found a kit but was wondering if it would be cheaper to fab the parts.

Of course you could fab it yourself, but the perches they sell are awesome. You can move the axle forward or back just a bit with them.
After helping a buddy do his back in 02, I would get the kit. Much easier.

Thanks Mark that's what I figured. I need about 6" of lift to clear the 35s and all the 6" kits are back ordered right now. I'd need shocks, break lines and a pitman arm. Am I forgetting anything?

That should take care of it.

The spring over should give me about 7 to 8 inches I think... Will I have any issues using a drop pitman designed for 4 to 6 in of lift?

A spring over will net closer to 5 in of lift. Not 7 to 8, so a 4-6 pitman arm will work great.

The kit I'm looking at in the link below is saying 7"... But is I keep my saggy springs maybe it's closer to 5 over stock hight. Making it hard to deturmine what shocks to order too...

Well, in the stock waggy I assisted with, his healthy springs gave just a touch over 5". Usually you only gain a very small amount over what the height of the axle tube is. Unless you have some beefy perches.

That makes sence... Looking at the photos of the perches in the kit it's pretty bulky looking. Maybe that nets an extra 2" over a standard purch.
