I figured if I'm going to post on here once in a while, the new folks in town might be wondering just who I am.

I got to Eielson AFB in November of 2001. I had a 97 TJ on 31" ATs. Stock axles and a underpowered winch.

Through the years I made some upgrades, rear ARB, gears, dana 300 transfer case, roll cage, larger tires...

I wheeled that in AK for 4 years. In 2005 I broke my rear axle and bought a ZJ to tide me over until I figured out what to do with the TJ.

I did what I could to fit my TJs 33s on it to wheel for M&G 2006.

I moved to Idaho in 2007, and have sold my TJ. I bought that thing new from the dealer in 1997, and it protested when the new owner drove it away.

I kept the ZJ and here it is today.
1996 Grand Cherokee, 4.0. auto, 242 case. stock d30/35. Rusty's 5" Long-arm lift, 33" X-terrains.

I made some lifetime frineds in those years, and learned a lot about 4x4s, driving off road, Clubs, and land stewardship.

Geoff's better half also made one of the best after-run meals in history.
What a suprise (and treat)!

that was a good looking TJ, what did you have to do to get a 300 to go in?

Thanks Brian. I'll tell her you said thanks again.

To put in the dana 300 I used a kit from Down East Offroad.

10 points to anyone who can name the trails in pics 2 and 3. 1,4,7 are too easy.

If anyone has any other pics they'd like to post, feel free. Mel, I don't have hardly any from Rainbow in Aug 2007.

I know but it helps when you don't put the trail name in the URL. ;)

#5 is the Eielson Officers club parking lot. I want extra credit maybe to make up for me screwing up #2

#2 is the Nenana trail?

#3 well, we've both been there before...

That's cheating Joe.
Kelly, #2 is correct. I liked that trail a lot. Did they close it permanently or just for the construction?

Oh I knew it beforehand but checked the url to make sure, because it looks different when dry. ;)

and I think the local native corp. shut it down permanently. It's relatively close to me, I might stop by there one day and check if it's blocked off.

I'm just glad I got to run it once before they shut it down. funny how it was my first trail...ever.

I guessed since I know the other trails. I never had the chance to run that one. We should see what it would take to run it at some point.
