Greetings, I will be moving up to the area this Dec. I am currently in Nebraska and a member of NEpowerstroke.org I have enjoyed all the friends that I have met and looking for some wheeling buddies and new areas up north. I am originaly from Eagle River and have been wheeling around the south end of the state. Check out my trips here in NE on http://www.youtube.com/user/akcowboy76

Ya'll have a great site here. Can't wait to be home again.

Welcome to FAO!!

Most of us wheel Jeep Wranglers, some Suzuki Samurai, and a few guys run some other rigs. There might be one or two guys who have full size trucks as yours, but I can't recall right now. All the times I have been wheeling with FAO it's been just Wranglers and a Samurai.

Heck, I'm still bigger than you.

The SAV just hasn't been on any FAO runs due to an axle gearing issue.

The SAV is an 85 Suburban with one tons, no lift and 36's.

BTW, welcome to Frozen Axles!

welcome to Frozen Axles! Look forward to having you come out on the trails with us. We have ways of recovering large rigs. Daisychaining smaller rigs together usually does the trick. We have never left a rig behind.:)

Hope he doesn't care about his paint on some of the trails we run. I know if the TJs get all pin striped, the power stroke will have many!!:D

that's kinda the reason, everything i've seen out on the trail is rather small

well if I aint doing some damage then I am just driving to work. LOL Its all good, the strips add carater to the rig.

So is there any other diesels on here?

AKMark

I think I'm the only other one.

My truck just squeezes everywhere I need to go. Scratches add character, and mine is so old a few more might be an improvement. Heck wait till you see my fender and bumper trim job. :D

I do have a diesel but it doesn't go on trail rides. It's mainly the wifes DD and the tow rig. Welcome to the boards

Since I can't post anywhere else, I have some questions for the diesel guys on here. What oil do ya'll run 10 or 15w? What station has the best fuel, #1 or #2? Block heaters? what r u using; batt blankets, freese plugs, tank heater, heating pads. Cold fronts?

PM will be on the way.

In my 6.2, I have two block heaters (one per side) as well as a battery heater for both Optimas. I will be installing one pad on the oil pan and another on the transmission.

I get my fuel wherever it's convenient, run #1 in the winter with 2-cycle oil, sometimes other additives as well.

Lately, I've been buying from a Tesoro near the airport, and I may try a sourdough bulk plant soon. I understand they will give you one or two 55 gallon drums for filling. If I can fix the landlord's forklift, I'll start doing that for fuel. I don't want to carry tanks in my DD truck as it's a gasser.
