~Q1~ What does it take to be a Frozen Axles Offroad member?

Answer:
1. Contact an Officer or Founding Member and let them know you would like to pursueing membership.
2. Show up to a monthly meeting, Frozen Lunch, wrench session, etc prior to participating in a trail ride
3. Attend 1 trail ride as a pursueing member, being sponsored by a current FAO member and attend atleast 1 meeting within 6 months of gaining recruit status.
4. Come out to a meeting to get your membership voted on

We are interested in potential club members who are responsible, Tread Lightly minded, ACTIVE, and family oriented in nature.

~Q2~ Can you be a member of another offroad organzation in addition to this one?

Answer:
Yes, you can. We welcome dual memberships in other respectable organizations such as Arctic Offroad, Northern Alaska Offroad(NorAKor), 2 Broke 2 Play, Kodiak Offroad, Denali offroad, Alaska Extreme, and many others! A few stipulations are that you can not serve in a leadership position in FAO while serving in a leadership position at another local offroad club to avoid the possibility of a conflict of interest. Also any misconduct on another offroad club that could effect the local offroad community may be a disqualifier for continued membership in FAO. while on Frozen Axles offroad trail rides and functions, you need to follow Frozen Axles bylaws and rules of engagement.

~Q3~ "I am military currently deployed/displaced. Can I join?"

Answer:
Yes, you can. Mention your interest in joining Frozen Axles to one of our officers or founders and we can arrange for you to go in our MIT(membership-in-training) status. Once you get back into town, you have can start completing your membership requirements.
The 3 founding members of Frozen Axles are staunch supporters of the military with 2 of us being on active duty and one is a community supporter of the military.

~Q4~ What type of member is Frozen Axles looking for?

Answer:
In one word; Proactive.

Frozen Axles is looking for members who want to be active in wheeling, active in wrenching(not just on their own junk but on other people's junk as well); Folks interested in standing up for land use issues as a responsible usergroup; family oriented, friendly wheelers who want to be involved.
We like to pride ourselves on helping each other out, never leaving a person behind on the trails, and doing the right thing when no one is looking. For additional information see our bylaws here (http://www.frozenaxles.com/Bylaws.htm)

~Q5~ My rig is pretty much stock. Can I still join?

Answer:
Yes. we all start out somewhere. No rig starts out fully built and equipped for every trail ride. Having a built rig isn't as important as a positive additude and a willingness to learn and help. Your rig may be exempt from certain trail rides based on the trail bosses rig requirements but for the most part, these rides aren't as common. There are plenty of rides you can take your stock rig on while you prepare for any upgrades you want to do.

~Q6~ I am a member of another offroad club. Do I still have to complete Frozen Axles requirements to join FAO, or can I just be grandfathered in?

Answer:
You cannot be grandfathered in from another offroad organizations requirements into membership in Frozen Axles. We created Frozen Axles to be a seperate club with the knowledge that it's the journey that counts, not the destination. Having a new organzation with some similar/some different goals than other local offroad clubs means we need to ensure that we have the right kinds of people joining Frozen Axles and that Frozen Axles is not considered a consilation club subordinate to one you are already in.

~Q7~ I am a member of another local offroad club as well as Frozen Axles. Is there a way to have a dual-club run?

Answer: Short answer; Yes. Each club's drivers must follow the trail rules of their club. Dual membership drivers will follow both sets. Most respectable offroad clubs have very similar rules and when in times of difference, respect goes a long way. Ultimately, the trail bosses are responsible to ensure that their rules are set clearly and are being followed. If you are a member of Frozen Axles on a dual club trail ride, the rule that no man shall be left behind will be extended to sister club drivers as well. On the trails, there is no "red team vs. blue team". If you go out on a trail together you share in the responsibility of being safe, taking care of each other, respecting each other, and having fun, RESPONSIBLY!

~Q8~ I know each senior member of Frozen Axles was an officer and board of director of Arctic Offroad at time of departure. Why did you start Frozen Axles Offroad?

Answer: Arctic Offroad was a good organization to be a part of. Different members rotated in and old members rotated out as clubs do. The newer membership of AO held different values and wants of where they saw their club heading and how it was to get there. When we decided to start our own club and steer off in our own direction, each of the 3 of us were officers and members in good standing, and none left on bad terms, or were kicked out. We also chose to steer a different direction from our offroad friends at Northern Alaska Offroad. We have a friendly working cooperation with NorAKor concerning land use issues and responsible trail riding.

~Q10~ What if I want to drink beer on a trail ride or at a meeting, run over trees, bash other users on FAO websites or trail rides?

Answer: Frozen Axles is not the club for you.

~Q11~ Can I do just do the bare minimum to attain club membership?

Answer:The club is not about "just doing the bare minimum". We at Frozen Axles understand overly-busy schedules, because we all have one. This club is just as much about being there for friends and families as it is about wheeling and wrenching. It's about giving more than you take. There are great resources within the club that can help club members and friends who need help in many different areas. The key to a successful membership in Frozen Axles is to become a valuable resource and utilize the other resources wisely.

~Q12~ What do you mean, "Family Oriented"?

Answer: Family Oriented in the Frozen Axles meaning is simply this: Family is always welcome to any Frozen Axles function, meeting, or trail ride. Period. Along with this, we monitor the content of our online forums to reflect this by keeping our content "PG-13".
Furthermore, family oriented means that, in my case, the family comes first. If the kids get sick or the wife wants to spend some time at home, you probably will not see me on the trail that day. We all love wheeling, wrenching and doing functions with friends, but the motto "Family First" is one that we here at Frozen Axles stick with wholeheartedly.

Also, let us know if you are interested in pursueing membership so we can change your online forum status to "recruit" which unlocks further permissions on our online forum.

Remember however, that the forum is not the club and the lion's share of our club happens face-to-face at builds, trailheads, meetings, and get-togethers.
